What Is Classical Pilates?

 Classical Pilates is essentially Pilates in the truest most authentic form, as Joseph Pilates intended.In the original Classical Pilates method there is a sequence to the work, which was designed to move the body through a full range of movement. The sequence builds intelligently with foundational exercises at the beginning and more complex exercises as you gain strength and control.

Is Pilates A Cardio Workout?

 Most of the time I would say no. And, maybe sometimes yes.

 A cardio workout refers to any activity that increases heart rate and respiration while using large muscle groups repetitively and rhythmically. And, Pilates is not about repetition. We do many exercises but with few repetitions and we focus on using the whole body, not just the larger muscle groups. 

As one advance in their practice and becomes familiar with the sequence, proper form and knowledge of their own body, the method can be applied at quicker pace, which will increase the cardio rate significantly.

What Should I Wear?

Workout clothes and Pilates socks (optional).

What Should I Bring?

Water and Face Towel (optional).
